What you’ll get

✺ Complete System Visual Inspection
A full visual inspection of a septic system involves a comprehensive assessment of all visible components to ensure proper functionality and identify potential issues. This service includes examining the tank, distribution box, and drain field for signs of wear, damage, or blockages.
During the inspection, our technician will evaluate access points, check for leaks, and assess the condition of any visible system components. We will also look for unusual odors, standing water, or any other indicators of system failure.
-
✺ Effluent Filter Cleaning
The effluent filter, located at the outlet of the septic tank, plays a vital role in preventing solids and debris from entering the drain field. Over time, these filters can become clogged with particles, leading to decreased efficiency and potential system failures.
The filter will be cleaned thoroughly to eliminate any buildup of grease, soap residue, and solids that can obstruct flow. This cleaning process not only helps maintain the health of your septic system but also extends the lifespan of your drain field by preventing premature clogging.
Regular cleaning of the effluent filter (every 6 - 12 months) is recommended to prevent blockages and costly repairs, helping to keep your septic system running smoothly.
-
✺ Sludge and Scum Measurement
The contents of a septic tank are comprised of a “scum” layer of solids that float, a “sludge” layer of solids that sink, and a clear “effluent” zone in the middle of liquid waste. When the scum and sludge layers in the tank comprise 30% or more of the total volume of the tank, it’s time to get the system pumped.
The “Septic Checker” is an essential tool used in our septic services to accurately measure the thickness of sludge and scum in the tank.
With this measurement, we can determine whether a septic tank requires pumping or other maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of your system. This method offers a precise, reliable, and non-invasive way to monitor septic health, helping to prevent potential issues before they escalate.
-
✺ Component Testing
The technician will thoroughly assess all system components. They will check that the pumps are operational and efficiently pumping wastewater. Siphons will be evaluated to ensure they are dosing correctly, providing the necessary flow of effluent. Aerators will be tested for adequate air circulation, which is vital for the breakdown of organic materials. Additionally, alarms will be inspected to confirm that they properly light up and sound, alerting homeowners of any potential issues.
-
✺ Inlet and Outlet Tee Clearing
Most septic systems feature inlet and outlet “tees” that play a crucial role in the functioning of the septic tank. These components can become prone to clogging if not properly maintained. During the maintenance service, our technician will physically clear these “tees” to ensure they remain unobstructed. This preventative measure helps avoid potential issues and ensures your septic system operates smoothly, reducing the risk of unexpected clogs that could lead to costly repairs or disruptions.
